What hearts, date tickets, and star sand are for, how to earn them, and how they are spent — plus general questions about dymi.
Hearts
What are hearts?
Hearts are the unit of conversation with your AI characters (also called message credits). The cost per message depends on the model you choose — usually between 2 and 15 hearts — and the model selector above the input box shows the estimated cost before you send. As long as you have hearts, the conversation never stops.
How are hearts deducted?
Your daily free allowance is spent first: 25 hearts per day on the free plan, 150 per day on Basic (US$9.99/month) and Premium (US$24.99/month) plans. The daily allowance resets the next day and does not roll over. Once it is used up, the system spends your topped-up or subscription-granted hearts, which stay in your account and never expire daily. If an AI reply fails to generate, the hearts are refunded automatically.
How do I get more hearts?
Two ways: subscribe and receive a monthly grant — 13,500 hearts/month on Basic (US$9.99/month), 32,000 hearts/month on Premium (US$24.99/month); or buy a Message Supply pack in the store, +100 hearts per pack, ready to use right away.
Date tickets
What is a date ticket for?
A date ticket starts a "date": spend 1 ticket and the AI generates a full date scene for you and your character. The outcome changes affection (up to +15, or a small drop), and the date is written into the character's long-term memory. You need affection 60 to ask for a date; if the character is already seeing someone else, you need affection 85 to try.
How do I get date tickets?
Subscribers receive a monthly grant — 2 tickets/month on Basic (US$9.99/month), 8 tickets/month on Premium (US$24.99/month), refreshed with each billing cycle. You can also buy tickets individually in the store, starting from 1.
Do I lose the ticket if the date fails?
No. If the date scene fails to generate or is blocked by the content policy, the ticket is automatically returned to your account and you can try again later.
Star sand
What is star sand and what can I do with it?
Star sand is dymi's progression currency with two uses today: repairing relationships — when a relationship breaks down (you get blocked), spend 200 star sand to write a repair letter and reconnect; and buying decorations — avatar frames, chat bubbles, and chat themes priced between 150 and 800 star sand to personalize your chat (some decorations also accept cash).
How do I earn star sand?
No purchase needed — just keep coming back: daily check-in grants 30 star sand (60 on Basic, 120 on Premium); daily tasks — chat once +20, create a character +50, invite a friend +80; and when a friend signs up through your invite link, you get another 120 star sand.
About dymi
What is dymi?
dymi is an AI character relationship platform. You can pick or create virtual characters and build lasting relationships through ongoing conversations. Characters remember your preferences, promises, and important moments, and keep living their own lives while you are away.
How is dymi different from a regular chatbot?
Regular chatbots only respond to the current conversation. dymi characters have long-term memory, relationship stages, and emotional states. Characters also influence each other, forming a living relationship world.
Will the character really remember me?
Yes. Key details from your conversations, your preferences, and relationship milestones are stored in long-term memory. When you return, the character picks up from those memories instead of starting over.
What happens while I am away?
Time keeps flowing. Characters may live through their own events, mood shifts, and even interactions with other characters. When you come back, you continue from a new “now”.
Is dymi free?
The core experience is free, and you can chat with characters without signing up. Creating an account saves your relationship progress and long-term memory; membership plans unlock more characters and higher limits.
Is the content safe?
dymi is intended for users 18 and older. The platform enforces a content policy with persona constraints, output filtering, and reporting tools, and blocks self-harm and illegal content. See the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for details.
